An introspection of indignation (内生の内観)

An introspection of indignation is a performative installation exploring anger as a point of departure for self-reflection and emotional awareness.
Developed through collaborations across performance, psychology, sound, lighting, and technology, the work examines how emotions are perceived, interpreted, and embodied differently by each individual. Inspired by ongoing artistic research into anger and the Japanese concept of hika-kougai (悲歌慷慨), it combines performance, responsive light, environmental sound, and guided reflection to create a space for introspection.
Rather than communicating a fixed narrative, the work invites audiences to engage with their own thoughts, memories, and bodily sensations, reconsidering the relationship between emotion, self-understanding, and contemporary society.

Academic Perspective
“Observing and reflecting on our emotions, thoughts, bodily reactions, and actions can help us better understand ourselves and reconsider how we relate to others."
"Behind anger may lie thoughts that reveal what we truly value. These thoughts can also reflect the influences of society, culture, and our own experiences.”
